As you know, all football activity, training, games and blitzes are on pause for now. Latest update from SFAI indicates that all activities suspended until a review on 19th April at the earliest.
Unfortunately, there are many things we can't do in this period and the best advice is to stay at home. For health reasons our pitch in Clarisford Park is closed and no one should enter until this ban is lifted. We also had to make the early call to defer Tribe Trials 2020 until September.
There is plenty we can do though to pass the time. Practicing alone or with family members is a great way to pass these nice spring days. Taking on challenges like the keepie uppie challenge, the SFAI skills challenge and the solo session practice sessions can help our club members remain active, enjoy the game and even if we need to pause teamwork we can be a virtual team by sharing our practices and challenges on line.
With all these home hours I look forward to seeing the skillage in the village skyrocket when we return. One of life's simple pleasures in nutmegging your Da. Priceless ;-), trust me I'm a well nutmegged Da / coach...
If anyone needs help, needs football equipment, online links, advice or wants to share tips or great ideas, nominate clubmates to take on challenges, please do so through our facebook page or any of the team or coach chat functions. Take care for now, from all at Lough Derg FC.
