Saturday Summary 1st Feb. First day of spring saw 4 seasons in one day. Didn't stop the games though.
Early start and away trip for u16As who travelled to Nenagh and played in a gale. Against the wind were made work hard and went 1 up in the first half through Dan Fogarty. 2nd half goals from Charlie King, Dan Fogarty, Andy Lynch and a worldie free kick from Shane Geraghty rounded off a fine team performance and a good win. 16Bs too were on the road in Killavilla where it finished 2-1 to Derg Cian McAuley plus an og on the scoresheet. At home 12 Major boys put in a fine performance against a strong BT Harps side and were unfortunate to lose out 1-2. 14Bs had a good game at home to Killavilla A but lost out to a very good side. In the afternoon kickoff the u14 girls hosted Newport. This young squad is improving with every outing and recovered from a slow start to pull themselves back into the game with a Hannah O'Shaughnessy goal making it 1-4 after 40 minutes. However, despite the Derg girls putting on a performance to be proud of, the stronger Newport team ran out winners 1-7. Some days we win, some days we learn.
Plenty of great football played by the 3 under 10 boys squads as well as the u8s enjoying an excellent blitz in BT Harps. Lots of pics capturing the magic moments below. More results to follow...
