Weekend Summary 26th Jan 2020

Some cracking games played over the weekend. On Saturday morning the u15As played out a cracking 2-2 tie with league leaders Ballymackey. Derg dug in to twice come from behind with goals from Eoin Heffernan and Luke Dillion.

Next up u13A girls played with swagger and style earning a good 3-0 win over local rivals Newport AFC. Lauren Dowling and a pair for Saoirse Mcloughlin accounting for the goals in a fine team performance.

U13A boys enjoyed an excellent 1-2 away win to a very good Arra Rovers side. Alex Quinn with a cracker and Thomas Shanahan stepping up with a late winner for Derg. A tough outing for u13B girls who were well outplayed by a very strong BT Harps team in the Major league. 13B boys came up against a strong Birdhill side and went down 1-6. U15 girls went down 4-0 over the Newport. Meanwhile the three u11 boys squads enjoyed cracking games with goals aplenty versus BT Harps, Hollycross and Borrisokane.

As well as a full programme of club fixtures, plenty of Derg footballers representing North Tipp over the weekend. On Friday night under lights in Rearcross the u13 North Tipp girls went down unluckily 0-1 v Clare. Ava Neary, Molly Hammond and Aimee Lyons are Derg girls in the squad. And on Sunday afternoon u16 North Tipp boys put in a strong performance in beating Midlands League 4-2 with Darragh Hickey, Andy Lynch and Luke Dillon Derg boys on duty. Roll on next weekend when we do it all again..
