Saturday Summary 4th January 2020. Plenty of Derg lads and ladies back in league action this weekend and the weather stayed pleasantly onside.

U12A boys got the ball rolling in the early kickoff and proved too strong for an understrenght Killavilla A side. Derg lads scored some quality goals and were comfortable winners in the end.

A super win too for 12Bs in the major, winning 6 nil at home to Moneygall.

Mixed fortunes for u16 boys. In the Premier League 16As earned an excellent 5 nil win versus Nenagh AFC. Darragh Hickey gave Derg a 1 nil half time lead. In the second half Derg found their form and added 2 goals from Tom Wood, with excellent assists from Andy Lynch. Lynch added a 4th and Dan Fogarty completed the scoring.

Bad luck for the 16Bs against Knigh Utd. In a match that was evenly contested, Derg came out the wrong side of a 1-4 scoreline. Little between the sides but Knigh took their chances, the 4th goal in particular being a cracker. Jack Meagher on the scoresheet for Derg. U14 girls really enjoyed their outing away to Newport despite being well beaten on the scoreline. Nevertheless this new squad is making strides in the right direction. U12 girls too went down, 2-7 v Ballymackey. Some days we win, some days we learn.
