Weekend Preview 12th April 2019
Lots of cracking cup ties down for decision over the weekend and into the long evenings of next week.
Friday Night Football sees a cracker at Clarisford as Lough Derg A take on BT Harps A in a winner takes all cup tie. There's nothing between these two top schoolboy sides and it could be a thriller. Worth watching. Also on Friday night 12C young guns headover to Ballymackey to take on the home team in the Shield. And in the u14 Cup, Derg A head to Villa Park to play Killavilla B.
Saturday serves up a treat or two. Getting proceedings underway at 10:00 am, the u17 girls host BT Harps in the Cup. Next up is the fiercest of local derbies as Lough Derg u16A host Lough Derg u16B, with bragging rights on the line. Last year these two sides met in the Shield Final and the A's were given a right game of it before earning the title. Expect a similar contest at Clarisford tomorrow from 11:30. Worth the trip and should be great mornings entertainment with some interesting family rivalries. Coach Stuart Barber of the A's has son Mikey on the B's while Coach Ray Hickey with the B's has son Darragh on the A's. May the best team win!
At 12:30 Lough Derg A head to Silvermines in the u13 Cup. Best of luck to all our squads over the weekend.
Plenty of mideeek action scheduled for next week. Monday sees Lough Derg A host Nenagh AFC in the u16 Premier.
Tuesday night sees 15As host Knigh united in the 2nd Round of the u15 Cup. 15Bs are away to Killavilla. 14Bs are also in Villa Park i on Tuesday where they face Killavilla B.
