The curtain came down on 2018 football with a very enjoyable coaches kick about game on Saturday afternoon on 3G. The Gaffers and Special Ones from across the squads displayed silky skills, if somewhat in slow motion, with both sides being equally vocally critical of the impeccable refereeing performance of this very patient PRO. As the game progressed the talent level increased dramatically with the introduction of the young guns, boys and girls from some of our fantastic juvenile squads giving rise to plenty of father v Son / Daughter competition. A fitting way to end the year, playing football with our family and friends.

Final match report of 2018 would have to give a special mention to the Wondergoal scored by Donagh O'Shaughnessy. Of course if you were in Mills Bar last night or Mass this morning you already know about it. For the record, the 6 foot 4 colossus, on a rare foray into the opponents half, took a ball with his back to goal outside the opponents box. Taking only a couple of touches to control it, he turned like the tide and curled an unstoppable effort into the top right corner of the goal, giving the 3 foot tall 10 year old goalie no chance. Queue wild celebrations and dramatic removal of bib... dicing with a yellow... give that man a Puskass!

Unfortunately the goal was somewhat cancelled out with the concession of an OG which he tried to pin on Vinny.

Anyway, full time result, an epic 5-5.
