A glorious Autumn weekend. Lush pitches. Excited players. Autumn sun. The Clarisford Cuppa crew pulling out all he stops to welcome our visitors for National Cup.
Unfortunately the welcome extended to the playing field with the u13 boys and u15s both going down to Limerick sides Caherdavin and Janesboro respectively. Both Derg sides will be disappointed and both know they sold themselves short. And in the afternoon the 18s girls followed them out of the cup when Peake Villa took the spoils. That's football.
Then came the performance of the weekend. U14 girls faced a tough trip to face Ballymackey A in the Nationals. But the Derg girls prevailed, coming out on top in a 5 goal thriller. Chapeau to you ladies..
Elsewhere there were some good games in league competitions. And the academy was in full flow with 100 or more future stars learning the beautiful game..
So that's a wrap on another weekend of grass roots magic. Some days we win, some days we learn.
Whether you played, coached, baked or supported, thanks for your effort and energy. Next week, we go again....
