At Lough Derg FC we are seeking land in the Killaloe Ballina area to expand our playing facilities. With a massive growth in player numbers from young to old, we urgently need additional land for playing and training. We are open to a rental or purchase opportunity.
We now have over 600 members playing across 36 squads from under six to adult. The surge in girls football in recent years has really driven growth in our club. It’s a great situation to be in to see such sporting participation in the community, but it brings real challenges in terms of providing training and playing facilities.
We would welcome an opportunity to discuss potential sites. We are very proud of the facilities we have developed with our partners at our home in Clarisford Park. A site close to our Clarisford home would be ideal but we would consider any site in our catchment area ranging from Killaloe to Bridgetown and Ogonnelloe and from Ballina to Birdhill, Boher or Portroe. Flat, dry and minimum of 2 acres is worth a conversation.
Farmers, landowners, developers, state agencies, do you have a site you could see being put to great use for the benefit of our community? Does the new road and new bridge open up new sites?
Club members and supporters, please spread the word that Lough Derg FC is looking for land!
Please contact Ray Hickey 086 6010551 or any member of the Lough Derg FC Committee to chat about any sites.
Yours in sport.
